Why I built Mailtwine

I got tired of waiting for the inbox to grow up.

Hey, I’m Nitai. I built Helpmonks and have spent years helping teams manage customer, support, sales, and founder email.

Every big inbox shipped another filter, another tab, another AI button. The bargain never changed. You were still expected to read, sort, remember, and reply to everything.

I did not build Mailtwine to give you another inbox to babysit. I built it to do the work the old inboxes still hand back to you.

Keep the accounts you already use. Mailtwine works behind them, handles the routine work, and brings you only the decisions that still need you.

Works with your existing email

Keep your mailbox. Get help with the work.

Mailtwine is the underdog working behind the accounts you already use. No new address. No migration. No swapping one inbox for another. It sorts, drafts, routes, and follows up in the background, then asks for attention only when a decision still needs you.

Connect Google Workspace through tenant-owned Google OAuth or keyless service-account domain-wide delegation, Outlook.com and Microsoft 365 through Microsoft OAuth, Fastmail through JMAP, Helpmonks through its native API, or any standard IMAP mailbox with SMTP for sending. MCP-compatible clients connect over OAuth for mail search, summaries, draft suggestions, routing, and approval review.

Mailtwine works inside your inbox.

Open any conversation in Gmail, Outlook, Fastmail, or Helpmonks. Mailtwine appears beside the thread with the context and suggestions you need to reply.

The extension is separate from direct mailbox sync. Native connections cover Google Workspace through Google OAuth or keyless service-account delegation, Microsoft through OAuth, Fastmail through JMAP, Helpmonks through its API, and standard IMAP with SMTP.

A better relationship with email

An unread count is not a work queue.

Mailtwine turns incoming messages into visible decisions, owners, and next actions.

1

Incoming

Requests, renewals, issues, approvals, and handoffs land in one queue.

2

Triage

Classify by urgency, customer, mailbox, owner, and rule.

3

Draft

Generate replies grounded in policies, history, and notes.

4

Route

Move each thread to the right teammate or queue.

5

Approve

Approve individual actions or authorize exact rules to handle routine work.

What an assistant should do

AI that waits for a prompt is not an assistant.

An AI email assistant should work before you ask. Mailtwine turns scattered messages into a prioritized queue — what needs review, who owns it, what can be drafted, and what can close.

Priority queue

Automatic email prioritization by urgency, customer, SLA, owner, and next action.

Draft approvals

AI prepares the reply. Your team controls the final send.

Routing rules

Plain-language rules move email to the teammate who should own it.

Thread context

Each action keeps context attached, including source knowledge from Streamient.

FAQ

Before you connect your inbox

Is Mailtwine open source? +
The complete application will be published under AGPLv3 when beta ends, with supported self-hosting. Use the hosted beta today. See the open-source roadmap for availability and what you will be able to run yourself.
Does it send without approval? +
Not by default. Mailtwine drafts and routes for review. An admin can approve an exact rule version for limited auto-send; changing that rule revokes its approval.
Does it replace my inbox? +
No. Keep the email accounts and inboxes you already use. Mailtwine changes how much work reaches you, not where your address lives.
Where does context come from? +
Mailtwine can use local mail context and stored knowledge from Streamient when connected.
Which email systems does Mailtwine support? +
Native connections include Google Workspace through tenant-owned Google OAuth or keyless service-account delegation; Outlook.com and Microsoft 365 through Microsoft OAuth; Fastmail through JMAP; Helpmonks through its native API; and standard IMAP with SMTP for sending. The Chrome extension separately works inside supported webmail.
Is Mailtwine an AI email assistant? +
Yes — one that works before you prompt it. Mailtwine prioritizes, summarizes, drafts, routes, follows up, and handles the exact routine actions you authorize.
Mailtwine · The bigger picture

One team.
Five tools.
Fewer gaps.

Mailtwine turns incoming email into a prioritized work queue—sorting, drafting, routing, following up, and handling approved routine work. Around it, four focused tools manage shared customer conversations, durable knowledge, digital assets, and product feedback.

01 · The shared inbox

Move from personal triage to team ownership.

Mailtwine surfaces what needs attention. Helpmonks gives support, sales, billing, and operations a shared place to assign customer conversations, collaborate on replies, and keep the full history together.

02 · The memory

Ground every draft in knowledge that lasts.

Streamient turns notes, decisions, URLs, stored email, and Git into shared, inspectable memory. When connected, Mailtwine can use that knowledge to prepare replies with the context your team already captured.

03 · The files

Put the right file behind every reply.

Razuna gives images, videos, and documents one governed, searchable home. Teams can find the approved asset an email needs without digging through shared drives or recycling an outdated attachment.

04 · The product loop

Turn inbox signals into product progress.

Feedback, objections, and feature requests often arrive by email. Managani brings them into one product-growth workspace with roadmaps, changelogs, chat, tours, surveys, highlights, and product tracking.
